Kirk Murphy

Funeral services for Kirk Murphy, 52, were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Farmington Church of the Nazarene in charge of Elder C.W. Gunn of Fort Madison with burial in the family lot in the Greenglade cemetery.

His death occurred at noon Sunday, July 4th at Fort Madison. He had been in failing health since early last winter and was being cared for in the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brown, Sr., in Fort Madison.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Murphy of Farmington. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Oscar. Those surviving are a sister, Mrs. Alice Brown and three brothers, Fred of Keokuk, Charles of Fort Madison and John Murphy of Farmington. As a young man he was a railroad bridge carpenter and a veteran of the first world war, he served with the A.E.F. overseas.

The Richardson-Anthony post American Legion conducted military services at the grave.
