MRS. ETHEL N. HARLAN

Mrs. Ethel Nixon Harlan, 84 year-old life resident of the Stockport area, died in Van Buren County hospital, Keosauqua, Saturday noon, Aug. 17.

She was born May 6, 1890, near Utica, the daughter of Julius and Lena Beswick Nixon. She married Max M. Harlan on Sept. 20, 1916; he died Sept. 22, 1939. Mrs. Harlan was a member of the Stockport Christian church and OES chapter.

Surviving: Son Deane Nixon Harlan, Stockport; brother and sister Aura Nixon and Mrs. Blanche Landess, both of Stockport; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at the Stockport Christian Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday; Rev. Chester Werft and Carl Mast; Spencer cemetery. Weston Behner funeral home, Fairfield, was in charge of arrangements.
