DIED.

DIED. - MRS. PHEBE PIERSON - at her residence in Van Buren township, this county, January 10th, 1877, aged 65 years, 6 months and 18 days.

Mrs. Pierson was a daughter of Wm. and Rebecca Baird; was born in Somerset county, N.J., August 28th, 1811, and was married to James T. Pierson, June 4th, 1830, and they moved to the state of Indiana and from thence to this state in 1831. She was a lady of true worth, a member of the Congregational church and a faithful christian.

At a meeting of Keosauqua Grange, NO. 909, P. of H., the following resolutions were adopted:

WHEREAS, It has pleased the Divine Master of the Universe to call from our midst our beloved sister, Mrs. Phebe Pierson, and

WHEREAS, In her loss, we have been deprived of a good and faithful member of our order, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That while we bow in humble submission to the will of our Heavenly Father, and submit to His call, yet our hearts are sad when we remember that the welcome presence and valuable council of our sister has been forever taken away, and that we shall no more be benefited by her labors and cheered by her countenance in our rejoicings.

RESOLVED. That we extend to her relatives and friends our heartfelt sympathies in this their hour of sorrow, and commend them to our Heavenly Father who alone doeth all things well.

RESOLAED(sp), That a copy of these resolutions be published in the Keosauqua REPUBLICAN, and Van Buren Democrat, and a copy of the same be furnished to the relatives of our deceased sister.
