OBITUARY.

Cora D. Workman was born in Highland Co., Ohio, July 7, 1868, and died March 31, 1898, aged 29 years, 8 months and 24 days. She came with her parents to Iowa in 1873 where she was united in marriage to Peter L. Davis, Jan. 1, 1885. Of this marriage four children were born, three of whom passed on before to await her coming in paradise. She leaves a husband, one child, father, mother and a brother with many friends to mourn her death. She was happily converted to God when a child and united with the M.E. church and lived a devoted christian life. She continued in a lingering illness for many months of intense suffering always thinking least of herself. While racked with pain and only a few days before her death, while singing she remarked to her husband: "Wont I have a strong voice to sing the praises of God with the angels?" She said over and over again: "Jesus can make a dying bed feel soft as downy pillows are," and "I can suffer anything for Jesus." She exhorted her many friends to meet her in heaven. The pall bearers were members of the Epworth League which she organized; the last church work she did. The church, league, Sunday school and the neighborhood feel that a great loss has been sustained. The funeral services were held at Zion M.E. church at 11 a.m. and were conducted by her pastor Rev. B.F. Shane. There was a large attendance and many followed the remains to the cemetery at Pittsburg where they were laid to rest. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of many hearts in their great sorrow.
