Martin Walker

Martin Luther, son of Samuel and Nancy Condiff Walker, was born in Jefferson Co., Iowa, April 3rd, 1844, and died April 8th, 1925, bein at the time of his death 81 years and 5 days old. He had five sisters and six brothers, all preceding him in death.

On Feb. 2nd, 1869, he was united in marriage to Emaline S. Shamp. To this union five children were born, William, who died when five years of age; Ed of near Stockport; Mary Bradford of Oakland, Cal., Etta Weiher of near Stockport and Mrs. Ivy Keller who died ten years ago.

All of his life had been spent on the farm until ??? years ago, failing health caused him to (move to) Stockport, Iowa.

Altho being quite feeble all winter his last illness was of but three weeks duration and was confined to his bed but one week. During this time everything that could be done, was done for his comfort and the relief of his sufferings, but to no avail and he passed quietly away at ten-thirty Wednesday night.

He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, one son, two daughters, fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Stockport at 2 o'clock, on Saturday, the 11th conducted by Rev. Bowles, burial at the Smith cemetery.
