OBITUARY OF MRS. MARY ANN TALBOTT.

Mary Ann Minear was born Oct. 20, 1820, in Tucker county, W.Va., and died near Douds-Leando, Iowa, Feb. 23, 1909, aged 88 years, -4 months and 3 days.

She was married Oct. 30, 1848, to Francis D. Talbott in Tucker county, W.Va., who died Aug. 11, 1863. She came with her family of six children to Kilbourne, Oct. 26, 1865, and lived in that neighborhood ever since. Three of her own children are still living, a step-son in West Virginia and Mrs. Birdie Camblin of Douds-Leando, whom she raised from childhood and to whom she was indeed a mother.

She was converted and joined the M.E. church at the age of fourteen and remained a member at the time of her death, living through all those years an earnest, faithful Christian life, respected and loved by all who knew her. During the last years of her life she suffered a great deal but was always very patient, believing that God permitted his children to suffer only when it was for their good, and she endured pain in perfect submission to his will. She was laid to rest beside her two sons in Mt. Moriah cemetery, Feb. 25, 1909.

RESOLUTIONS OF RESPECT.

Hall of Twin City Chapter No. 258, O.E.S. Douds, Iowa, Dec. 21, 1908.

Whereas, It has pleased The All Wise Heavely Father to remove from our midst our beloved sister, Mamie Talbott, and while we deeply feel the loss we have sustained in the removal of our worth sister by the hand of death, we meekly bow in humble submission to the will of Him who doeth all things well.

We also extend our heartfelt sympathy to the afflicted family of our beloved sister, and would recommend that a copy of sent to the State Line Democrat for publication and that they also he spread upon the minutes of this Chapter and that our Chapter be draped in mourning for the next thirty days.
