Nelson Hunter and Carrie Belle Simmons were united in marriage Oct. 15, 1902 at her parents' home and where she resided when she departed this life. Two daughters came to bless their home and have been a great comfort to their mother in her illness. They are Grace Marie Hunter and Anna Ethel Hunter.

Grace Marie Hunter is a teacher in the Woman's Home Missionary Society, teaching in Mother's Jewels Home at York, Nebraska, and anna Ethel Hunter resided at home. The two daughters, her husband, and her stepmother, Mrs. Martha Simmons, of Bonaparte, remain to feel the great loss her death brings.

After heir marriage Mr. and Mrs. Hunter established their home east of Story Chapel. For four years they resided at Fairfield, and the rest of the time they have lived in the present home west of Story Chapel.

Mr. Hunter was converted under the ministry of Rev. (Chas.) Wilson, when she was 13 years of age, and united with the M.E. church, always taking an active part in the church and Sunday School work. When a very young girl, she used to lead the singing at church and Sunday School, when they did not have a piano or organ accompaniment.

She was devoted to her home and church. She took great interest in the building of the Story Chapel M.E. church. She was a public school teacher for five years, teaching at Bradford Prairie Queen and Pioneer schols(sp). Her long illness was marked by the Christian patience she had at all times, pleasant, patient, and kind through the many months of her illness and suffering.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at Story Chapel, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Harvey E. Butler. Burial services were held at the Thompson cemetery.
