Ruby Lucille King, 90, of Memphis, MO, and formally of Milton, IA, died Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.

She was born October 6, 1925, at Mount Pleasant, IA, to Albert Ferdinand and Ella Dorthea (Anderson) Woline.

Ruby attended Mt. Pleasant High School and was a graduate of the class of 1942. Following graduation from high school, she attended Burlington Beauty School. She was married to Charles T. King on August 24, 1947, at the Swedesburg Lutheran Church in Swedesburg, IA, and to this union four children were born. Ruby and her husband began their married life in Iowa City, IA, after which they lived in Des Moines, IA, and then moved to Cedar Rapids, IA, in 1961, where they lived for 30 years. Following her husband's retirement in 1990, they moved to their farm near Milton, IA. Due to Ruby's failing health, they moved to Residential Terrace in Memphis in 2013.

Ruby was a homemaker. She belonged to the Cedar Rapids P.E.O. Chapter LU and TTT. Chapter FI. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Cedar Rapids, IA, was a member of their Women's Circle and attended the United Methodist Church in Milton, IA. Her greatest passion in life was to be able to spend time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Preceding Ruby in death were her parents; two brothers: Harold Woline and John Woline; and two sisters: June Woline and Jean Woline. She is survived by her husband; three sons: Steven C. King and his wife, Susan, of Cedar Rapids, IA; Richard A. King and his wife, Judith Spencer, of West Branch, LA; Thomas D. King and his wife, Nancy, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and a daughter, Teresa "Teri' D. Haman and her husband, Dr. Jerry Haman, of Kirksville, MO. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Clare Mummey and her husband, Ben; David King; Marianne King; Barbara King and her husband, Carl Protsch; John Haman, Molly Haman and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016, at 11 A.M. at Memphis Funeral Home in Memphis, MO, with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Lori Fulk, vocalist, and Ann Luther, pianist. Private burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton, IA. Honorary bearers will be Clare Mummey, David King, Marianne King, Barbara King, John Haman and Molly Haman.
