MORTUARY RECORD
ABIGAL FORD MOORE.

Abigal Ford Wray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wray, native of Ireland, was born in Columbiana county, February 18, 1815, and died February (missing), 1905, at the age of 90 years and 7 days. About the year 1838 she married John Moore. They had 11 children, George H.H., died four years ago in Illinois, Asbury S., of Wellsburg, Virginia, Joseph and Curtis, present residence not known, J.R. Moore, who lives at Cantril, present at her death. Mrs. Morgan Stewart of Milton, also present, Elizabeth S., of Cantril and Martha P. Beeler, and Hanna P. Sweet of Kansas, the latter also present, and a son and daughter that died in infancy. She has 18 grand children and 23 great grand children. In 1852 the family moved to Lee county, this state, and some years afterward into Henry county where they owned a farm and remained there until 1892, when they moved to Cantril. Just when ready to move Mr. Moore died and was brought here for interment as Mrs. Moore expected to make this her home. She was converted at a meeting of the M.P. church in Ohio, but was not a member until after coming to Cantril where she united after coming to Cantril where she united with the M.E. church. When able she was a great reader of the Bible.

At her birth the United States was about 30 years old. She saw the number of states more than doubled, twenty-three presidential elections and the population increase from 10,000,000 to nearly 90,000,000. The last ninety years has been a wonderful period in the world's progress and the making of history. Of medium size, yet she had great strength and endurance. Mr. Moore was never a vigorous man and the last 17 years of his life being paralyzed, the burden of rearing the family depended largely upon her. Her strength, endurance and energy were supported and directed by unusual intelligence and foresight. While she knew the value of a dollar she was not unmindful of those who needed help and sympathy. Her funeral was from the M.E. church conducted by Rev. H.F. Gilbert at 2 o'clock, Feb. 24, 1905, and she was laid to rest beside her husband in the Cantril cemetery.
