DEATH OF FORMER KEOSAUQUAN.

Fayette Meek, aged 83, a pioneer Des Moines business man, died at Granger yesterday morning following a short illness. Mr. Meek was identified with the Capital City Investment company for many years, and was well known in the real estate circles. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and four grandchildren. The funeral services are to be held in Granger tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at the home of Dale Meek. The body will be brought to Des Moines and interred at the Woodland cemetery. Short services will be held at the grave at 1:30 o'clock.

The above was taken from the Des Moines Register and Leader of November 18. Mr. Meek formerly resided at Farmington and Keosauqua, he being a member of the firm of Tuttle & Meek, merchants and pork packers of this place, they being engaged in business here before the civil war.

Mr. Meek was a brother of Mrs. Lucia Therme of Keosauqua, who departed for Des Moines Wednesday to attend the funeral. Other sisters are Mrs. J.M. Tuttle, Des Moines, Mrs. Minnie Nash, Minneapolis, Mrs. McFadden, Kansas, and Mrs. Frank Clapp, Temple, Texas, and "Mode" Meek of Farmington.
