Death of An Old Citizen.

James McManus died at the county farm Friday the 17th, after an illness of several months. Mr. McManus' trouble started with a slight cut on his heel. Gangrene developed slowly and extended upwards until before he died it had reached his knee. Amputation was considered impracticable on account of old age.

Mr. McManus was 82 years of age. He came to this county from Indiana in 1859. He was from Milton; and formerly kept a hotel at that place. Mrs. McManus died some 8 or 10 years ago.

Mr. McManus was buried at the Egypt cemetery, east of Milton.
