Mrs. Emma Lovina Gaston, nee Wilson, was born ar Farmington, Iowa, Oct. 20, 1859, where she lived most of her life. She was married to Mrs. Elsberry Gaston about twenty-three years ago, from whom she has been separated eighteen years. She took nurse training in Independence, Iowa, hospital and followed in her chosen vocation until about two years ago, when her own affliction advances to such a stage that she had to give over her professional labors and seek medical help.

She made her home when on vacation with Mrs. Mary Miller, at whose home she was cared for until last March, when she was taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Laura Lueckel. Though constantly suffering great pain, she had endured all with patience and fortitude, yet it was to her a great disappointment to be compelled to surrender her life-work when experience had made her most capable, better prepared and urgently needed in the service.

She united with the Baptist church in Bonaparte, Iowa, May 6, 1888, and was lived an upright Christian life until death called her to rest Oct. 31, 1918.

She leaves to mourn the passing her brother, Albert Wilson of Portland, Ore.; Joseph Wilson of Fairfield, Ia.; and sisters, Mrs. Laura Lueckel of Farmington, and Mrs. Lucy Sargeant of Douds, Ia. The brothers Charles and Levi, also the father and mother, preceded her to the paradise of rest many years ago. Now Emma has gone to join the home circle over there.

Funeral services at one p.m. November 2, 1918, at the Adam Lueckel home, Farmington, Elder James McKiernan was assisted by Rev. W.A. Nelson. Interment in Green Glade cemetery.
