Linda G. Cameron

Lina G. Cameron, 74, of Burlington, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at Good Samaritan Home of Quincy, Ill.

A funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke United Church of Christ in Burlington, with the Rev. Mark Schowalter officiating. Burial will be in Salem South Cemetery in Salem.

Following burial, a memorial service will be held at noon at Salem Friends Church, with the Rev. Jared Haley officiating. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service at the church.

Visitation is noon to 7 p.m. Friday, with the family present 5-7 p.m. at Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington.

Memorials have been established for St. Luke United Church of Christ and Salem Friends Church.

Mrs. Cameron was born May 30, 1939, in Salem, the daughter of George Marion and Gladys Rebecca White King. She married Thomas Cameron Sept. 5, 1959, in Fairfield.

She was a 1957 graduate of Fairfield High School, where she was a cheerleader, a queen candidate and very active in school activities.

She worked as a bookkeeper in real estate and then worked with her husband at Cameron Insurance Service and MFS Mutual.

She has lived in Des Moines, Waterloo and Burlington.

She was active in children's activities, such as 4-H, Girl Scouts, PTA and church Sunday school.

She also was an active member of PEO, Questers and the church group Secret Pals.

Survivors include her husband, Tom; one son, Scott Cameron and spouse Jennie of Quincy, Ill.; one daughter, Kristin Cameron of Quincy, Ill.; five grandchildren; four brothers, Jim King of Muscatine, Bob King of Rogers, Ark., Bill King of Mount Pleasant and Charles King of Cedar Rapids; and three sisters, Estyl Breazeale of Iowa City, Katherine Ross of Mount Pleasant and Patti Nicol of Mount Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
