Rev. Harvey Butler, 82, Of Milton Dies

MILTON. - The Rev. Harvey E. Butler, 82, a retired Methodist minister, died Friday evening at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines, where he had been for seven weeks.

He was born in Rock Island February 24, 1878, the son of George and Lavina Butler. He spent his boyhood there. He spent his boyhood there. He was ordained in 1903 and served churches in the Iowa-Des Moines conference 50 years. His pastorates included Milton, Farmington, Donnellson, Muscatine, Fairfield and Batavia.

He was married March 29, 1899, to Daisy M. Wilson, who survives. They moved back to Milton in June of 1953. He also leaves a son Ray of Ottumwa, and two grandchildren. Three children preceded him in death.

The funeral will be at the Milton Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. Harold Harryman. Burial will be at Keokuk. The body is at the Wagler funeral home.
