Ralph Wolfe Dellinger

Son of Ed and Mary Jane Dellinger, passed away Sept. 7, 1954. His pause for refreshment and coronation for world service, came at Van Buren Memorial Hospital at Keosauqua. Death was caused by a re-occurring heart condition for the past 8 months.

He was reared and educated in the Blackaby neighborhood near Milton. He was a member of the Milton Methodist church, Pulaski Eastern Star and Eleusis Masonic Lodge No. 358.

He served widely in the township and community activities. He served several terms as township agricultural committeeman, township assessor, and Davis county 4-H board member. He served very actively in the Masonic lodge and is a Past Worshipful Master.

He united in marriage with Lera Ethel Cless on April 17, 1919, who departed this life May 9, 1953.

One son Vernon was born and now lives in Milton.

He leaves to revere his memory his son, his mother, Mary Jane Dillenger, two brothers, William Dellinger of Powell, Wyoming, Bernie Dellinger of Nodaway, Iowa, three sisters, Mrs. Ada Weilbrenner of Reding, Calif., Mrs. Vera Mingus of Agency, Ia., Mrs. Pearl Beath of Corning, Iowa, several sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, the children on his street, and a host of friends.

Ralph will long be remembered for his tact and courage in dealing with difficult problems.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating, with burial in the Sunnyside cemetery. Masonic rituals were held at the graveside. The body was at the W.W. Wellborn Funeral Home in Milton prior to the services.
