GEORGE HENDERSON DIES AT STOCKPORT

Stockport - The day before his 76th birthday, George Henderson, retired furrier of Stockport died in Jefferson county hospital. Henderson, who had been living with his nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Morris, at Stockport, suffered a stroke March 17.

A native of East Kaldonan, Canada, Henderson was born March 22, 1875, and came to the United States at the age of 15. His family was historically prominent. His grandmother, Flora Livingston, was a sister of David Livingston, the famous missionary explorer.

For many years Henderson bought furs for dealers in New York City, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Milwaukee, Cleveland and Minneapolis. Several years ago he retired and settle in Stockport.

Grave rites were at Spencer cemetery, near Stockport, at 2 p.m. Thursday. Officiating was Rev. Lacy H. Thompson, pastor of the Stockport Methodist church.
