Roger M. Elliott, 62, of West Point, IA, died at 9:14 P.M., Friday, July 29, 2016, at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, after a year and a half battle with cancer. He was born March 12, 1954, in Keosauqua to Philip H. and Irma Stecker Elliott and married Lucy Burke July 21, 1973, in Harrisburg Baptist Church.

Roger grew up in Harrisburg Township north of Bonaparte and graduated from Harmony High School and Southeastern Community College with a degree in auto mechanics. He and Lucy lived in northern California, primarily in Glen Ellen, from 1985 until they returned to southeast Iowa in 2000. They assumed ownership of Elliott's Service in Bonaparte in 2001 which they continued to operate. Roger was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church and National Rifle Association and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Gabe Elliott (Caroline) of Santa Rosa, CA, and Spencer Elliott (Laura) of Sonoma, CA, a daughter, Cassie Stone (Brett) of Napa, CA, five grandchildren, his mother, Irma Elliott, and a sister, Karen Burwash, both of Bonaparte, other relatives and many friends. His father preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday August 5, 2016, in Harrisburg Baptist Church, north of Bonaparte with Pastors Mark Caston and David Glavin officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery east of the church. Visitation will open at 2 P.M. Thursday with family present 5-7 P.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
