Rodger L. Syfert, 55, of Keosauqua, IA, died at 8:28 P.M., Sunday, July 31, 2016, in the emergency room of Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua. He was born May 12, 1961, in Keosauqua to Rex and Elouise Muntz Syfert and lived his life in the community.

Rodger graduated from Van Buren High School, was a carpenter with Kisling Construction Company and had been a technician with Van Buren Telephone Company for many years.

Surviving are a daughter, Tarrah Syfert (Jacob Cassens) of Iowa City, a son, Tanner Syfert, and Rodger's parents of Keosauqua, four brothers, Ardith Syfert (Linda) of Osage Beach, MO, Jerry Syfert (Joan) of Keosauqua, IA, Dennis Syfert (Diana) of Birmingham, IA, and Richard Syfert (Lisa) of Bettendorf, IA, a sister, Susan Branscom of Kirksville, MO, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Syfert.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday August 4, 2016, at Pedrick at Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Rev. Bill Shewmaker officiating. Visitation opened Wednesday at the funeral home with family present 5-7 P.M. Cremation will follow the service.
