Marvin Duane Cox passed peacefully on July 21, 2016, at his home in Fairfield.

Marvin was born April 17, 1933, to Willard and Florabelle Cox in Van Buren County, IA. He lived most of his adult life in the Quad Cities area, returning to Van Buren County upon his retirement.

Marvin enjoyed outdoor activities and will be missed by his many friends who shared his interests.

Marvin is survived by three daughters, Diane Benfield of Port Arthur, TX; Theresa Bunn (Jack), Court, NM, and Kristina Almanza (Gabriel) of Davenport, IA; two sons, Jack (Tamara) and Robert, and two stepsons, Bradley and Rodney Williams, all from the Quad Cities area. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra Murray (George), and Mary Cohenour.

Marvin was preceded in death by four brothers, Dean, Ronald, Larry and Bill, and two sisters, Naomi Patterson and Karen Salter.

Marvins remains have been cremated and a memorial service may be planned at a future date.
