Paul Satterthwaite

CEDAR RAPIDS - Paul Satterthwaite, 88, of 1040 Juniper Drive, died Sunday, Dec. 25, in St. Luke Hospital, Cedar Rapids. He was a former Burlington resident and retired in 1955 as works auditor at J.I. Case Co.

Born Oct. 29, 1895, at Muscatine, he was the son of William and Jennie Newcomb Satterthwaite. He married W. Arlene Gaston April 12, 1922, at Muscatine; she died in 1938.

Mr. Satterthwaite was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of Burlington Rotary Club, Eagles Lodge and a Sunday school teacher at First United Methodist Church, Burlington.

Surviving: A son, Robert, Oak Brook, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Manson, Cedar Rapids; a brother, Robert, Walnut Ridge, Ark.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Prugh's Chapel; the Rev. Arthur Campney; Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established to First United Methodist Church, Burlington, and St. Mark Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids.
