ELDER ABRAHAM WOLF.

Elder Abraham Wolf died at the home of his youngest daughter, Mrs. Emma McCurdy of Selma, at 10:30 o'clock on the morning of October 17, 1922. He was 86 years of age, his birthday being September 12. He had the influenza last winter and gradually failed until the Lord called him home. He bore his sufferings with patience, ever looking and longing to go home.

Mr. Wolf, who had preached for the Brethren church for over sixty years, was born in Ohio. Both his parents died when he was quite young and at the age of twenty-one years he moved to Keokuk county, Iowa, near Ollie, and two years later was married to Catherine Fritz.

Shortly after this marriage he was ordained a minister and spent the rest of his life preaching the gospel. He preached at the Brethren church in South Ottumwa only last spring. His two sons, Edward and Albert, were Brethren ministers. Elder Wolf was a christian man, always thinking of others, rather than himself. He preached t Libertyville and Batavia afterwards, going to Udell where his beloved wife and companion passed away August 15, 1913.

After the death of his wife he lived with a daughter, Mrs. Lillie Jones, at Fairfield, and preached wherever he was called. Many funerals were conducted by him and he also solemnized a large number of marriages.

Mr. Wolf was the father of twelve children, eight of whom are still living. They are: Mrs. Minerva Farrier of Plainsville, Kas.; Rev. Edward Wolf of California; Mrs. Rosa Rodebaugh of Agency; Jerry Wolf of Waterloo; Mrs. Lillie Jones of Fairfield; William E. Wolf of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Emma McCurdy of Selma. Mrs. Farrier came from Kansas to help care for her father. The son, of Denver, also was by his bedside, as was also a brother-in-law, J.S. Fritz of the same town. He was buried Thursday, October 19, at Udell, by the side of his wife, in the church cemetery. Services were held at the church by Rev. Orlando.
