Myrtle Gaston Dies Monday In Ft. Madison

FT. MADISON - Myrtle Maria Gaston, 1212 Avenue G, Ft. Madison, died at 5:30 p.m., Monday, at Sacred Heart hospital. She had been ill since Aug. 27.

She was born Aug. 29, 1888, in Bonaparte, the daughter of Oliver and Ollie Clarabelle Freeman Guess. She was married to Daniel A. Gaston on Mar. 17, 1909, in Ft. Madison. He preceded her in death in 1952.

They moved to Ft. Madison from Chicago where they had spent 27 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church and the United Lutheran church and the United Lutheran Women's Society, and was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose.

Surviving are three sisters, Mable Smith, Mt. Sterling, Beulah Guess, Chicago, and Eleanor Muntz, Farmington.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Clement's Chapel with the Rev. George Moeller officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Ft. Madison.
