MRS. GEO. GASTON DIES AT HER HOME AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Mrs. George Gaston passed away at her home 1521 Front Street, at 5:40 o'clock Monday evening, July 6, 1925, after an illness of 10 weeks.

Miss A.M. Harbin was born near Milton, Iowa, on Nov. 3, 1853, where she spent most of her early life. On Aug. 7, 1873 she was united in marriage to George Gaston and to them were born 4 children: Mrs. H.M. Robinson, Mrs. H.A. Shepherd and Hazen of Fort Madison, and D.A. Gaston of Chicago, Ill.; and 7 grandchildren; Marie and French, deceased, and Leon Robinson and Byrle, Stanley, Lloyd and Donald Shepherd of Fort Madison and two great-grandchildren, Margie Louise and Bonnie Ruth Shepherd of Ft. Madison.

Mrs. Gaston was survived by 5 sisters: Mrs. W.A. Wilson of Cantril, Mrs. Rufus Wilson and Mrs. William Cassidy of Milton, Mrs. Chas. Mowre of Billings, Mont. and Mrs. Matt Fowler of Argalia, Kans. and one brother Alvin Harbin of Los Angeles Calif.

Mrs. Gaston was a resident of Fort Madison for 25 years, where she enjoyed the affection of a wide circle of friends. She was always interested in the welfare of others, and was a loyal member of the Aid Society of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a member of the Aid Society of the same Church.

On Aug. 7, 1923, Mr. and Mrs. Gaston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Funeral services will be held from the home Wed. July 8 at 2 o'clock. Dr. Hoover of Carthage College will charge and interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
