GEORGE W. GASTON 1853-1930

George W. Gaston, 77 years old, died at Santa Fe Hospital in Ft. Madison at 5:30 Wed. morning, March 12, 1930, from injuries received several days ago when he fell, breaking his hip.

Mr. Gaston was born March 28, 1853, at Vernon, Iowa. He had been a resident of Ft. Madison the past 30 years. He married Artie Harbin at Keosauqua, Iowa, Aug. 7, 1873. She preceded him in death 5 years ago. Mr. Gaston was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Mr. Gaston is survived by 2 sons, Dan Gaston, Chicago, and Hazen Gaston, Ft. Madison; 2 daughters, Mrs. Harry Shepherd and Mrs. Harry Robinson, Ft. Madison, 3 brothers, W.O. Gaston, Burlington; James Gaston, Mt. Sterling; and C.W. Gaston, Ft. Madison and one sister, Mrs. Anna Gaston, of Ft. Madison.

Funeral services were held Fri. afternoon at 2:30 O'clock at the home of Mrs. Harry Robinson, 1021 Ave. F. Burial in Elmwood cemetery.
