HARRY A. SHEPHERD

Harry A. Shepherd, 74, died at his home at 126 1/2 Avenue G in Ft. Madison at 1:35 p.m. on Sept. 8. He was a native of Bentonsport.

He was born on Christmas day, 1877 at Bentonsport, the son of Henry and Clementine Bailey Shepherd. He married Eva Mae Gaston Nov. 25, 1897 at Vernon.

Mr. Shepherd had been a resident of Ft. Madison since 1914. Mrs. Shepherd died on May 27, 1949. He was a member of the First Christian church and the Bricklayers, Masons and Plasterers International Union of American.

Surviving are four sons: Lloyd of Pendleton, Oregon, and Byrle, Donald and Stanley Shepherd, all of Ft. Madison; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at Clements' chapel in Ft. Madison with the Rev. A.L. Bradbury, pastor of the First Christian church officiating. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery at Ft. Madison.
