Jack Shepherd

Jack Donald Shepherd, 71, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Fort Madison, died at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, in Safety Harbor, Fla.

Born Aug. 31, 1927, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Byrle B. and Kathryn Sallen Shepherd.

Mr. Shepherd was a retired computer programmer. He was a World War II Marine veteran and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include two daughters, Laura Lee Shepherd and Ann Clairborne Cavallari, both of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Clark and Margie Lyon Lindstrom, both of Burlington; and one uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His body has been cremated.

The memorial service for Mr. Shepherd will be at 2 p.m. Monday in King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison, with the Rev. Bruce Dobyns officiating. Burial will be in Soldiers Circle of Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison.

A memorial has been established.
