MRS. MURPHY DIED SATURDAY EVENING AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Prominent Fort Madison Woman Never Completely Recovered From Accident.

Mrs. Cora A. Murphy died at her home, 313 Elm street, Saturday evening after an illness of 14 weeks duration. The deceased was born at Vernon, Iowa, and was at the time of her death 60 years of age.

Mrs. Murphy had been practically an invalid for the past four years, never completely recovering from injuries received in an automobile accident in California. These injuries are thought to have caused her present illness and subsequent death. The untimely death of her husband last November is also thought to have increased her weakness condition.

Those who survive are one daughter, Houri, a son, R.E. Murphy, and one sister, Mrs. C.W. Gaston, of Fort Madison. Five brothers, Geo. W., Charles, W.O., James and John T. Gaston also survive.

The funeral was held this morning from the home, with services at Oakland cemetery. Rev. Father A.J. Zaiser officiated at the home and grave.
