Gladys Guthrie

Mrs. Gladys Glenora Guthrie, 86, No. 19 Richards Drive, died at 4 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart hospital. She had been in failing health two years and seriously ill one month.

Mrs. Guthrie was born June 21, 1883, in Milton, Iowa.

A former resident of Fort Madison for 20 years, she lived in Emdon, Mo. 16 years before returning five years ago.

In 19?? in Chicago, she was married to Robert N. Guthrie, who preceded her in death six years ago. She was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence H. (Roberta) Spring, Fort Madison; a sister, Miss Ella Gaston, Milton; and two grandchildren and several cousins.

Her parents were Elmer E. and Ida Cooley Gaston.

The body is at Nieters Chapel where final rites will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. James Buikema will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

The family will meet friends at Nieters from 7:30 to 9 this evening.
