RALPH E. WORKMAN

Ralph E. Workman passed peacefully away the morning of Sept. 9 at his home in Birmingham after more than 20 years of failing health. During the last 5 1/2 years he has been confined to his bed.

Ralph was the oldest of a family of eight children born to Girard and Emma Huber Workman. His parents, a brother, Clyde, a sister, Mrs. Ora Williams preceded him in death. Surviving of his family are Mrs. Roy Hickey, Mrs. Craig Sherod, Mrs. Stella Archibald, Fred and Rex Workman.

He was married in youth to Nora Workman, who passed away in Fairfield during the flu epidemic of 1918. He was married to Bess Porter on April 4, 1920, who survives him. A son, David, died in infancy.

He attended school in Van Buren county and college at Bloomfield. He took training as an automobile mechanic at Detroit and followed that vocation as long as health permitted. He was a member of Masonic lodge at Birmingham.

Funeral services were held at the Burch-Catcott funeral home, Birmingham, Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. H.C. Irvine. Pallbearers were Lee Ruggles, Seth Nelson, Lester Lindsay and Gib Mercer. Interment in Maple Hill cemetery, Birmingham.
