Dick Gaston Dies At Home Thursday

Richard Kenneth Gaston, sr., 43, owner of manager of the Iowa Theater, died suddenly at 5:40 p.m. Thursday in his home, 735 1/2 Avenue H.

He was born April 20, 1905, in Chicago but spent most of his life here. He was married to Edna Thomas on June 17, 1927, at Keokuk. He belonged to St. Luke's Episcopal church, the Elks club, the Claypoole Masonic lodge, the Potowonok Chapter 28, R.A.M., Delta Commander 51, K.T., and Kaaba Shrine, Davenport.

Funeral

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Luke's church with the Rev. Charles Hawtrey officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Masonic rites at the grave and a K.T. escort. The body will be at Clements Chapel until time for the services.

The deceased is survived by his widow; his mother, Mrs. B.G. Gaston, Fort Madison; one son, Richard, jr., at home; three brothers, Robert, Galesburg, Ill., Herbert and John, Fort Madison. His father, Beryl G. Gaston, died May 17, 1921.
