JOHN WILLIAM BOLEY

John William Boley, son of Hannah and Nicholas Boley, was born in Van Buren County, Iowa, on Sept. 14, 1869. He passed away Feb. 2, 1951, at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 18 days. His entire life was spent in Van Buren County - 54 years on the farm where he passed away.

On April 2, 1896, he was united in marriage to Sarah Jane McCracken, who preceded him in death. Eight children were born to this union: Lewis, Beulah, Irene and Dean, at home; Norene of Muscatine, Iowa, Nick of Birmingham, Ia., and Mrs. Ida Bloomquist of Ottumwa, Ia. One son, Mack, died in childhood.

In addition to the above children two brothers, Mark Boley of Hillsboro and B.R. Boley of Williamsport, Pa., and nine grandchildren survive. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Boley were long time members of the Baptist church in Hillsboro.

Funeral services were held at the Hillsboro Baptist church Monday afternoon, Feb. 5 with the Rev. Edwin Skoglund officiating. Music in charge of Mrs. Vinton Hoaglin.
