Bettendorf- Lillie M. Kimmel, 92, of Bettendorf, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, in Davenport.

Funeral services were held today at McGinnis, Chambers and Sass Funeral Home in Bettendorf, with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kimmel was born June 1, 1928 at Mt Sterling, to D. Walter and Alena (Madden) Bennett. She married Paul M. Kimmel, June 1, 1928, in Mt. Sterling. He preceded her in death in 1991.

Mrs. Kimmel was a school teacher in the Keosauqua schools before her marriage. She later worked for 18 years at Davis Gardens Greenhouse in Bettendorf and for 12 years at Shannons Cafeteria in Davenport. She retired from the Peterson, Harned Von Maur Tea Room in Davenport. She enjoyed flowers and once won the Quad City Times Bonanza Bill Contest.

Mrs. Kimmel is survived by one son, Richard Kimmel and wife Dorothy, of Bettendorf; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Phyllis Linn and Rachel Creek, both of New Windsor, Ill., Ruth Alexander of Alpha, Ill., and Esther Sedore of Bentonsport.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Paula Brackett, one son, John Kimmel Sr., two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters and one brother.
