Brighton- Margaret Eleanor Stalder, 73, of Brighton, died Jan. 1, 1997, at the Washington Care Center, following a lengthy illness.
Services willl be held at 10:30 a. m. at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home, Washington, with the Revs. Rick Zickefoose and Joe Ricks officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington.
A memorial fund has been established with Hospice.
Margaret Stalder was born March 8, 1923, in Keosauqua, to John and Louisa Miner Kimmel. She graduated from Washington High School and married Alfred A. Stalder on Nov. 15, 1941, in Kahoka, Missouri.
She was a homemaker and worked for McCleery-Cumming Co. for many years. She retired from Drug Fair in Washington. She lived most of her life in Washington, but lived in Brighton for the past 10 years.
Survivors include: one son, Dennis Stalder, Wayland; four grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen Leyden, Washington, Ruth McGill, Maquoketa, Marietta Canaday, Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1986, two sisters and four brothers.
