Donald L. Wright, 82, of Stockport died at 5:43 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Donald L. 'Bud' Wright

Donald L. "Bud" Wright, 82, of Stockport, died at 5:43 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A service is at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Larry Smith officiating. Burial with military honors by Elvin E. Cecil Post No. 147, Stockport will be in Spencer Cemetery in rural Stockport.

Family will be present to greet visitors from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.

Gifts to memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 204, Springville 52336.

Mr. Wright was born June 21, 1931, near Stockport, the son of Eldon and Blanch Hummell Wright.

In childhood and youth he lived in Springville and Viola, and graduated from Viola High School.

He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War.

He was a farmer and welder. He had farmed near Stockport from 1960 until retiring to town in 1996.

Foreign languages were his hobby.

Survivors include one sister, Darlene Casagranda of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; and two half sisters, Judy Winstead of Springville and Doris Meyer of Marion.

He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Betty Pringle, in childhood.
