Patricia 'Patty' Bruegge

Patricia L. "Patty" Bruegge, 57, of Birmingham, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

A memorial service is at 11 a.m. April 13 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Joe Arellano officiating.

A memorial has been established to the American Lung Association.

Patricia Bruegge

Patricia Lynn "Patty" Bruegge, 57, of Birmingham died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

The body has been cremated. The family will be hosting a memorial service at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Joe Arellano officiating.

Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Bruegge was born Aug. 23, 1956, in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of Darrell and Mary Huston Luce. She married Louie Daigle in 1973 in Anson, Maine; they later divorced. She married John Rowley while living in Colorado; they later divorced. She married Garry Bruegge in July 2010. He survives.

Mrs. Bruegge attended a private school in Norridgewock, Maine. She moved from Maine to Florida, then to Colorado and, in 1994, to Iowa.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Burlington.

She loved animals and had dogs, donkeys and chickens as pets. She especially loved to be around water where she would fish, boat and swim. While living in Florida, she sold jewelry on the beach. She appreciated nature and liked to hunt mushrooms. She also enjoyed playing cards, shopping in thrift stores and going to yard sales.

In addition to her husband, survivors include: one son, Louie Daigle II at Burlington; one daughter, Mary Daigle of Burlington; two sisters, Holly Luce of Montana and Rhonda Luce of Kentucky; five grandchildren; and special caregiver Joy Jackson of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Eric Luce; and one sister, Rosalie Wolcott.
