Agnes Minear, daughter of Geo. W. and Emma Pearson Minear, was born at Kilbourne, Io., on September 11, 1875, and passed from earth to heaven on May 24, 1922, at the age of 46 years, 8 months and 3 days. Her death occurred at the old homestead which has been her only earthly home, though at different times she has spent several months away, either in visiting, or attending school, or in the service of the Young Women's Christian Association.

In girlhood, Agnes was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church at Kilbourne, where her membership continued until she joined the church triumphant. No one ever doubted her christian experience and life. She always manifested the true Christlike spirit of meekness and unselfishness, helpfulness and love. These together with her capacity for friendship, were her chief characteristics. She was always loyal in her devotion to high ideals and zealous in her service to the community through the church, Sunday school and other channels.

Reared in a christian home where Bible reading and family prayer was a daily custom, she had held steadfastly to teachings of her childhood. When Agnes' mother lay dying more than 32 years ago she expressed her gratitude that all her children were saved and in the church. If that mother were here today, she would express her gratitude that Agnes (ha????????d) her Savior so faithfully and well.

Agnes took seriously sick years ago when a Junior in college. During that illness at different times her life was despaired of. She has never been really well (missing) finally she slipped to the other side to be with Jesus, her parents and other loved ones.

The surviving members of the family are Anna E. and Augustus C., at the old homestead; Mrs. Ida Baird, Coffeyville, Kansas; A. Bruce, Denver, Colorado, and George L., Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at the church on Friday afternoon, conducted by a former pastor and long time friend, Rev. H.F. Gilbert, assisted by the pastor Rev. Streyffeler. The text used was, Rev. 14-13: "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." The songs were well rendered by two of Agnes' close friends and christian associates, Mrs. Anna Watts and Mrs. Bessie Forbes. Interment was made beside her father and mother in the Kilbourne cemetery.

The large tribute of flowers was the sincere expression of sympathy and love by neighbors and friends, and was in accord with their spirit of exceeding kindness and helpfulness for which the bereaved family are truly grateful.
