Death of Former Keosauqua Citizen

J.J. Downard of Ottumwa, sends us the following clipping from the Ottumwa Courier of the death of C.E. Thornburg at Sioux City: "Charles E. Thornburg, a native of Keosauqua and an employe of The Courier many years ago under the late Maj. A.H. Hamilton, died at his home in Sioux City yesterday. His brother, T.M. Thornburg, 2332 North Marion street, received word of the death last evening. Mr. Thornburg who worked on the Des Moines Resister(sp) and in Omaha after leaving here, had been in the cigar and tobacco business in Sioux City for many years. He had just disposed of it and expected to spend a year in California. His widow and one daughter survive. The latter is a high school teacher in Helena, Mont., and Mrs. Thornburg was there when her husband passed away. He will be buried in Sioux City."
