"TOD" WILEY DIED SUNDAY MORNING

Native of Big Mound Neighborhood - Resident of Farmington Eighteen Years. Buried in Cemetery on the Hill

Arlington Wiley, the son of William and Aletha Brown Wiley was born June 14, 1862 and died June 9, 1935 almost seventy three years of age. He was one of a family of three children: his brother, Eli preceded him in death April 1903 and his sister Rachel survives, living in Hillsboro.

He was born and spent fifty-five years of his life on the Wiley homestead near Big Mound, Lee county, Iowa.

In his early life he swung the cradle in the harvest field, built stake and rider fences and split shingles for clap board roofs, ever maintaining and ingenuous interest in the chain of change Honest and upright in all his dealings, he professed that same faith in his fellow man.

September 23, 1920, he was united in marriage to Leona Carter bringing much comfort and happiness in his declining years and her fidelity and care through sickness unto death should be an inspiration to all who knew them. Besides his wife and sister many relatives and friends mourn his loss.

He united with the Big Mound Christian church in early life and when he moved to Farmington, he transferred his membership to the Congregational church.

The funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Congregational church were conducted by Rev. Harvey E. Butler. His body was placed to rest in the Farmington cemetery.
