James Herbert Specketer, 69, of Keosaugua, IA, passed away at 3:42 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at the Keosauqua Health Care Center.

Born November 23, 1946, in Burlington, IA, the son of Herbert Eugene and Myrtle (Bannier) Specketer.

Survivors include his three sisters: Mary Grelk of Donnellson, IA, Shirley Wiley of Burlington, IA, and Charlotte Hovenec of Freedom, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

James served in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Farmington American Legion and he enjoyed fishing.

James' body has been cremated. No services will be held.

The Schmitz Funeral Home in Farmington is assisting the family with the arrangements.
