TRAIN OF CARS INSTANTLY KILLS AGED WICHITAN

Children Find Body Near Round House With Right Leg Severed

Martin Drummond, aged track cleaner at the Frisco railroad yards who resided at 161 South Washington Ave. was killed late Saturday afternoon while crossing between a string of box cars on a sideing just east of the round house.

Children playing along the track discovered the body with the right leg severed at the knee, about 5 o'clock. The police and coroner were summoned. Coroner D.G. Heckman says that death must have been instantaneous and the body was dragged for a few feet. He reports the particular car which ran over the man was two car lengths farther down the tracks.

Mr. Drummond leaves a wife and three daughters. He was said to have been 60 years of age and has been in the employ of the Frisco for several years. - Wicchita(sp) Ealge.

The above clipping is relative to Martin Drummond, for many years a resident of this place. The family has many acquaintances here. Mrs. Drummond being the daughter of the late Mrs. H.N. Coons.

The following attended the funeral which was held in Wichita Tuesday: H.N. Coons, J. Walter Coons, W.H. Whittail, Jos. Whitright and Dave Gibson.
