Obituary of Mrs. Russell Barker

Jessie Loraine Robison, eldest child of James T. and Lottie Robison, was born near Birmingham, Iowa, June 16, 1882, and passed away October 4, 1922, at her home near Mt. Zion, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Russell Barker, Feb. 1, 1906, at Birmingham. To them two children were born, James Cecil and Fred A. Jessie united with the Presbyterian church at Mt. Zion in 1904. Her mother, a brother, a sister and step-sister preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn their loss, besides her husband and two sons, her father and wife, two brothers and two sisters, namely, Mrs. Grace Farlin of Villisca, Iowa; William, Roy A. and Mrs. Veda Topping, of Birmingham. Also a step-brother Harry Sparks of Holtville, Calif., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jessie's last sickness was of more than five months' duration and during it all she was cheery, hopeful and patient, making a plucky fight for life.

Funeral services were held in the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church on Friday p.m., Rev. L.V. Nash speaking from Romans 8, "For we know that all things work together for good to them who love God, who are the called according to his promise." The very large number of people, more than filling the church, was an expression of regard for the one whose long months of suffering have ended in the peaceful death of the christian. Burial was in the Maple Hill cemetery east of Birmingham.
