Death of Armfield Cooper.

Miss Armfield Cooper was born near Kilbourne, Iowa, Oct. 11, 1851, and departed this life at her home near Pittsburg, Oct. 7, 1922, her age lacking four days of 71. She was educated at Troy Academy and for several years was engaged in school teaching, having taught a total of 22 terms. Following this for several years she was a traveling sales-lady, covering many of the western states. Returning from the west she located at Ottumwa where she took up sewing, which she continued until she came to take care of her sister, Mrs. Holbert, near Pittsburg, some twenty odd years ago. After the death of her sister she continued to make her home on the small farm which her sister left her.

She was converted early in life and united with the M.E. church at Kilbourne and her membership was still held there at the time of her death.

Miss Cooper was a self-made woman, industrious throughout. She was an entertaining conversationalist, was well informed on current topics and did not shrink from letting you know where she stood. She was a good woman.

Funeral services, in charge of Rev. B.H. Morse, pastor of the M.E. church at Pittsburg, were held at the home at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 8, and burial was in the Cook cemetery.
