Obituary Of Mrs. Kirkwood.

Sarah J. Dunn was born April 18, 1856, in Van Buren county, Iowa, and departed this life July 24, 1915, at the age of 59 years, 3 months and 6 days, at the home of her sister Mrs. L.C. DeFord in Eldon, Ia. She was united in marriage to Wm. Kirkwood February 4, 1875, and to this union were born five children, two of whom, Chas. and Florence, with their farther, preceded her in death. Those who remain to mourn their loss are John W., Glen A. of Trenton, Mo., and Floyd D. of Kilbourne, Ia. Three sisters Mrs. L.C. DeFord of Eldon, Mrs. Geo. Faucett of Agency, and Mrs. Wilbur Fisher of Ashland, Ia., two brothers, W.D. Dunn of Peoria, Ill., and Albert F. Dunn of Ottumwa, Ia., besides a host of other relatives and friends. She was a faithful member and worker of the M.E. church at Kilbourne, Iowa, and also a member of the Rachel Rebekah Lodge of Eldon, Ia. She was a kind and loving mother and sister and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Short services were held Monday morning July 26, at the home of her sister Mrs. L.C. DeFord, Eldon, Ia., conducted by Rev. W.L. Selby, pastor of the M.E. church, after which the remains were taken to her home in Kilbourne, where funeral services were held at the M.E. church at 2 p.m. by her pastor Rev. Brabbs of Pittsburg. Burial was made in the Kilbourne cemetery, the Rebekah Lodge having charge at the grave.
