Obituary Of Mildred Crane

The deceased, named in the following sketch which we take from the Hartley (Iowa) Sentinel, was a daughter of I.E. Crane of Moneta, Iowa, who about 18 years ago commenced his railroad experience with "Doc" Jackson, agent at Douds. The obituary follows:

Mildred Crane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Crane, died last Saturday, January 15th. She had been operated upon for the removal of tonsils in the morning, and was up and around in the afternoon. About three o'clock she was laying down, and wanted to look out of the window. She turned over and died from paralysis of the left side. Mildred Edith Crane was born at Cloverdale, Iowa, on June 6th, 1908, and died at Hartley, on January 15, 1916, at the age of 7 years, 7 months and 9 days. She was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Crane of Moneta. The funeral services were conducted by Elder A.R. Ogden, of Nevada, Iowa, President of the Iowa conference of Seventh Day Adventists, from the Methodist church at Moneta. The remains were brought to Harley Tuesday afternoon on a special train, over the Rock Island, and the body laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery. A large number of people from Moneta accompanied the remains to Hartley. The Sentinal joins with the many friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved parents.
