Obituary of Thos. P. Gardner

Thomas P. Gardner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gardner, was born at Douds, Iowa, August 20, 1879; here he spent many years of his life. He passed away at the hospital, at Weeds, Calif., Sept. 23, 1925. He was married to Ola Gardner, at Selma, Iowa, July 8, 1902. They lived in this county for a time, going from here to Montana. The last three years he had resided in Weeds, Calif., where he was in the employ of the Weeds Lumber Co. He was suddenly stricken with appendicitis, taken to the hospital at once, operated upon. The appendix was found to have ruptured. He lasted just one week, despite the care of one of the best surgeons of northern California. He was a Spanish-American war veteran. Funeral services were held at his late home. He was interred in the Mount Shasta cemetery. The many beautiful floral offerings testified to the high esteem in which he was held by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, two sisters and two brothers, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
