NEW SHARON-- Hazel Sherwood, 88, a resident of New Sharon Nursing and Rehab Center, died April 19. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Rev. Morgan McLeland officiating. Entombment will be in the Cedar Memorial Mausoleum in Cedar Rapids. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service. A memorial has been established.

Hazel Sherwood was born August 26, 1913, at Bloomfield, the daughter of Leon (Lon) and Dora Barker McLeland. She lived in Cedar Rapids most of her life until moving to Oskaloosa in 1993 to be nearer her relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gerald; a son David; a brother Eldred McLeland; and two sisters Gladys Belle McLeland Mitchell and infant son Floyd Dwight Mitchell, and Lela Faye McLeland.

She is survived by two nephews, Morgan McLeland of Marengo, Ill., and Jan and Marilyn McLeland of New Sharon; and a niece, Luella McLeland of Oskaloosa.
