Oran H. Brewster, 65, former municipal railroad employe (sic) and retired farmer, of Fort Collins, Colo., died at the county hospital late Saturday, April 17. He had resided on South Shields street Ft. Collins, Colo., since April, 1917.
Mr. Brewster was born Aug. 13, 1882, near Keosauqua, Iowa, the sixth child in a family of nine, of whom four survive. He came to Fort Collins in 1908, being employed by the municipal railroad for a number of years. Later he engaged in farming but was forced to retire because of ill health.
He married Miss Bertha C. Perkins at Keosauqua May 12, 1910. Last fall Mr. and Mrs. Brewster went to Arizona to spend the winter, in hope that the warm climate would improve his health. They returned to Fort Collins the first of the year. Mr. Brewster was a member of the Center Chapel Methodist church.
Besides his widow, survivors are a son, Donald H. Brewster of Bellvue, Colo.; three grandchildren, Ronald N., Richard D., and Kathryn Ann Brewster, all of Bellvue, Colo.; three brothers, Oscar Brewster of Bonaparte, Clyde Brewster of Keosauqua , and Howard W. Brewster of Boulder, Colo.; and a sister, Mrs. Crete Finn of Mount Pleasant. One son, Edwin N., died March 22, 1936.
The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Henry L. Weiss at the Balmer & Collins mortuary at Ft. Collins, Colo., at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 21. Burial was in the Ft. Collins Grandview cemetery.
