Tensa Blackburn, daughter of the late Alonza and Mary Hales Cox, was born March 2, 1879 in Van Buren county and passed away Thursday, March 24, at the Van Buren County Memorial hospital at the age of 81 years and 22 days.

She was a member of the Methodist church at Center Chapel, having joined in early life and as long as health permitted was an active member.

Twelve years ago, she with her husband, Walter retired from their farm home near Keosauqua moving into town where she spent the remainder of her days. Although she had been in failing health for many years, she always had a sunny disposition.
