Catherine Julia Snyder was born in Wertemberg, Germany, Nov. 6, 1825, and died at her home near Leando, May 5, 1917, her age being 91 years, 5 months and 29 days. She came to Ohio from Germany when sixteen years of age. In the year 1850 she was united in marriage to Paul S. Plowman, and to this union seven children were born: Fred S., who preceded his mother in death April 3, 1917; a son who died in infancy; Mrs. Annie Young of Nebraska; Lewis, Mrs. Sarah Strait, Levi and Paul.
She also leaves to mourn their loss three stepsons, two stepsons and one stepdaughter having preceded her to the better land. Besides these there are a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She came with her husband to Van Buren county 64 years ago and has resided on the same farm ever since her husband died 48 years ago.
She united with the Lutheran church in early childhood and has ever kept the faith, leaning strongly on the everlasting arms.
The funeral services were held in the Douds church Sunday at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev. E.S. Hehner. Interment followed in the Leando cemetery.
