S.C. ReamSydnor Calvin Reams was born Nov. 7, 1870 on the Ream farm west Pittsbury, and passed away at his home Sunday morning, Jan. 26, 1936. He had been in failing health for some time.
He spent all his life on the farm on which he was born until about 10 years ago when he moved to Keosauqua.
When a young man he joined the Presbyterian church, where he was organist for many years. Later he transferred to the Keosauqua M.E. church. He was always interested in community activities.
He was married to Dora Fosnot Nov. 12, 1896. To this union two children were born: Halsey Calvin and Mary June, who passed away March, 1934. He is survived by his wife, Dora Ream, his son, Halsey Calvin Ream, Union, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. C.M. Daughrity, of Des Moines; one brother, Fred Ream, of Los Angeles, Calif.,; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the funeral home in Keosauqua Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 28th at 1:30 in charge of Rev. M.E. Hayes, pastor of the Methodist church.
Interment was in the Purdom cemetery.
